21-year-old Alysha Marie Sauter died, man injured after a single-car crash on South Wilmot Road (Tucson, AZ)

Authorities identified 21-year-old Alysha Marie Sauter as the woman who lost her life while a man was injured following a crash early Tuesday on Wilmot Road.

Authorities actively responded to the 6900 block of South Wilmot Road at around 2 a.m. after getting reports of a car accident. On arrival, they found a man and woman inside a white 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. The driver, 21-year-old Alysha Marie Sauter, was declared deceased at the scene.

The man was transported to Banner University Medical Center, where he is expected to recover from his injuries. Based on roadway evidence, investigators determined that the car was traveling north when, for unknown reasons, it suddenly veered off the road and collided with a tree. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
