20-year-old Taylor Sherwood died after a motorcycle crash on Nolensville Pike (Nashville, TN)

On Monday morning, 20-year-old Taylor Sherwood, a Clarksville man, died of injuries he suffered following a two-vehicle accident on Nolensville Pike.

The fatal motorcycle crash took place on Nov. 12. The investigation reports showed that Taylor Sherwood was traveling north approaching Higgins Street when a BFI garbage truck was attempting to make a left turn. Just then, the truck crashed into the motorcycle as it was rounding the curve.

Sherwood tried to apply brake in time, but he failed to maintain control of the motorcycle before it came to a stop underneath the garbage truck. Sherwood sustained critical injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The cause of the crash seemed to be failure to yield on behalf of the truck driver.

An investigation continues.
