According to the Lubbock Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Friday. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the 8800 block of 19th Street.
An SUV struck a 20-year-old woman and fled the scene before the police could arrive. The woman was identified as 20-year-old Keyanna English-King.
English-King was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Other details including the identity of the driver of the SUV remain unknown.
Alcohol or drugs are not being suspected as causes that resulted in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the LPD. The authorities have not released any details regarding the vehicle involved in the accident.
