20-Year-Old Isaiah Williams Escalante Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

The Tucson Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday night. The accident happened at East Speedway Boulevard and North Country Club Road intersection at around 10 p.m.

TPD stated that a Nissan Frontier pickup turned left in front of a Honda Accord that was moving east through the intersection despite failing to yield the right-of-way. The Honda was forced onto the sidewalk and into the bicycle lane by the impact of the collision, where it collided with the bicyclist.

20-year-old Isaiah Williams Escalante was pronounced dead at the scene. The Honda’s 23-year-old driver was also detained and lodged in jail on unrelated charges. Nissan’s 52-year-old driver, Matthew Lee Taleck, was charged with several offences. Taleck was lodged in the Pima County Jail after police claimed he was intoxicated at the time of the fatal crash.
