An investigation into a fatal crash on Interstate 10 near Fremeaux Avenue in Slidell is ongoing by the Louisiana State Police. The wreck happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to LSP, a 2021 Toyota Corolla driven by 20-year-old Reubon Kelly of Gulfport was travelling eastbound on Interstate 10. At the same time, a 2003 Mack dump truck was also travelling eastbound on Interstate 10.
The Corolla rear-ended the Mack dump truck.
The victim in the Corolla’s backseat died on the scene because of his fatal injuries. He was later identified as 20-year-old Arhuris Rapp.
Kelly and the other two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
Toxicology samples were collected from both drivers.
The crash is under review.
