2-year-old child injured after an auto-pedestrian collision on Detroit’s west side (Detroit, MI)

On Wednesday, a 2-year-old child suffered injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Detroit’s west side.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place in the area of Patton Street and Trojan Avenue at around 7:53 p.m. The early reports showed that a family was gathering for some kind of memorial in the 2000 block of Patton. The 2-year-old followed after a family member who was leaving, into the street and got struck by a vehicle.

On arrival, paramedics transported the child to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The current condition of the child is unknown. The identity of the victim has not been revealed at this time. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
