2-year-old boy dead after being hit by a vehicle at Lost Lake Recreation Area (Friant, CA)

A 2-year-old boy lost his life after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night at Lost Lake Recreation Area near Friant.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at about 6:40 p.m. at Lost Recreation Area. The early reports showed that a truck hit a toddler who had walked out into the road. The reports further said that the incident took place while the parents of the boy packed up their vehicle to leave the park.

After the accident, the driver stopped and called 911 for help. Then, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Officers said that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash. The entrance to the park was blocked during the investigation. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
