2 Police Officers Injured In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Memphis (Memphis, TN)

According to the Memphis Police Department, a motor vehicle accident was reported in Midtown on Wednesday morning. 

The officials reported that two officers responded to another officer who was called for carjacking. 

The crash occurred at Central Avenue and McLean when the two squad cars crashed into each other. 

The collision happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Central.

Officials reported that one of the cars caught fire. 

MPD confirmed that both officers were transported to Regional One and are currently in non-critical condition. 

MPD stated that both the officers have been cited for running the red light and not following the safety protocols, respectively. 

The identity of the officers was not revealed by the police department.
