According to the San Diego Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in San Diego. Officials confirmed that two persons died due to the motorcycle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred near Quivira Avenue and West Mission Bay Drive. A motorcyclist was overspeeding in the bike lane when he collided with a Toyota Prius that was attempting to turn right.
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The Prius had a total of 5 occupants inside the vehicle.Â
A 39-year-old woman who was sitting in the front seat was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other four occupants were transported to the hospital sustaining injuries.
The crash continues to be investigated by the SDPD.
