The official reports of Tyler authorities state that a Smith County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a head-on collision with a suspected wrong-way driver, according to the sheriff’s office.
The motor vehicle incident reportedly took place around 9 PM on Saturday. The location of the incident was near County Road 485 and Loop 323 in Tyler.
The Sheriff’s office’s spokesperson stated that it appears the driver hit the deputy while driving on the wrong side of the road. Both drivers sustained minor injuries.
