Two people received serious injuries after a rear-end collision early Wednesday on I-75 in Monroe County.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place near Swan Creek Road in Berlin Township at around 5:30 a.m. The early reports showed that a 28-year-old Lincoln Park woman was driving a blue Ford Edge on the north side of the freeway when her vehicle slammed into the truck from behind. The woman had a juvenile in the back seat who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Both the woman and the juvenile sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Beaumont Trenton. The truck driver remained unharmed in the accident. It is unknown if the woman was speeding or intoxicated at the time of the collision. No other details are provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
