The Coppell Police Department reported a two-vehicle accident on Thursday.
The accident occurred at the intersection of West Bethel Road and South Freeport Parkway. It happened at about 7:00 p.m.
According to the officials, a maroon Honda Accord was speeding north on Freeport when it ran a red light and crashed into a silver BMW.
There were five people present in the BMW at the time of the accident. Two of the occupants, a 41-year-old woman, and a 69-year-old woman, were killed. The other three occupants were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the Accord, identified as 20-year-old Selvin Cuyuch, was arrested on two counts of manslaughter. The police believe that he was trying to flee the scene of a different accident.
The fatal accident is still being investigated.
