The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash that killed a 33-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man in Landers on Monday. The accident occurred on State Route 247.
At approximately 8:35 a.m., a Jeep Cherokee was travelling northbound on the highway when it struck the front of a Kia. The driver and the passenger of Kia, a 33-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were fatally injured. They were declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
