According to the Montclair Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Montclair. Officials confirmed that two people died due to the pedestrian accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred at the intersection of Holt Boulevard and Ramona Avenue.
Two pedestrians were walking southbound when a vehicle going eastbound struck them. The vehicle sped away after committing the wreck.
One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the other victim died when he was taken to the hospital. Other details including the identities of the victims or the vehicles involved remain unknown.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash continues to be investigated by the MPD.
