According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported in Orange Cove on Monday afternoon.
The officials stated that the incident occurred near Highway 63 and Manning Avenue just after noon.
The California Highway Patrol stated that the driver of an SUV overpassed a stop sign and was hit by a garbage truck.
The crash led to a large plume of smoke.
The officials reported that two people travelling in the SUV were killed at the scene. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
The identities of the deceased are awaited from the officials of the California Highway Patrol.
