On Monday, two people lost their lives following a multi-vehicle accident south of Grand Rapids.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle wreck took place on southbound US-131 near 68th Street in Byron Township. According to the officials, two of the three drivers involved died as a result of the collision.
It is unknown if anyone else suffered injuries. Southbound US-131 was shut down in the area as crews worked at the scene. The identities of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
