Two people lost their lives following a wreck that led to the shutdown of the interstate for multiple hours.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area along I-10 East near Esplanade Avenue just after 5:30 a.m. after getting reports of a multi-vehicle pile-up. On arrival, responders found two adults dead.
At this time, it is unknown how many vehicles were involved in the collision. It is also unclear if the accident caused any other injuries. Traffic was rerouted to Orleans Avenue while crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
