The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on LA Highway 16 north of Sims Road.
According to the authorities, deputies were trying to stop a driver wanted for outstanding felony warrants. The driver did not stop, crossed the center line, and crashed into another car.
Officials said the two passengers, identified as Cullen Pitre, 25, and Logan McDonald, 27, were killed during the crash.
The driver, 27-year-old Benjamin Fontenot, was taken to the local hospital for treatment.
Fontenot will be facing several charges after his release from the hospital.
The other car occupants were taken to the hospital for moderate to serious injuries.
No further details regarding the crash are currently available.
The crash is being investigated.
