The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Nevada County on Tuesday morning.
The officials stated that the crash happened on Tyler Foote Road, north of Nevada County and east of Sebastopol.
The officials confirmed that a 5-year-old passenger from the vehicle was extricated by the fire personnel and rushed to the hospital in Sacramento via helicopter.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Nevada City man veered off the road and his vehicle went down a hillside embankment and into a pine tree.
The 32-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
The identity of the victims is awaited by the CHP.
The CHP is investigating the crash to determine the reason for the collision.
