According to Denham Springs police, two people were injured after their driver fled police during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
Joseph Gauthier of Denham Springs was charged with aggravated flight from an officer, driving under suspension, and hit-and-run following the police chase.
At 2 a.m. Wednesday, officers attempted to stop a Dodge Ram pickup truck for traffic violations near South Range Avenue and Highway 190. Gauthier refused to stop and drove above the speed limit on South Range Avenue into Plantation Estates.
The pursuit came to an end when Gauthier crashed his car. Two of his occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash.
Further details relating to the crash were not provided by the officials.
