2 people injured after two vehicles hit eucalyptus trees on Dominion Road and Orcutt Garey Road (Santa Maria, CA)

On Monday morning, two people suffered injuries after a tanker truck crash on Dominion Road and Orcutt Garey Road.

As per the initial information, the crash took place at about 4:30 a.m. on Dominion Road and Orcutt Garey Road in the Sisquoc area. The early reports showed that a semi-truck carrying oil and another vehicle hit branches of a downed Eucalyptus tree. The impact caused the semi-truck to roll onto its side and it sparked a fire that spread to a nearby grove of eucalyptus trees.

On arrival, firefighters managed to get the fires controlled. The accident did not cause any oil leaks. Reports further added that the truck drivers incurred only minor injuries whereas the other driver suffered moderate injuries as a result of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
