2 people were injured in a motor vehicle accident that took place on Monday afternoon. The incident is reported to have involved a collision between a passenger vehicle and the Valley Metro light rail.
Mesa Police Department stated that the incident took place close to Roosevelt and Main Street. The passenger vehicle, a silver Toyota, collided with a light rail car for reasons hitherto unknown.
The driver and the passenger of the Toyota vehicle sustained some injuries and were taken to a hospital following the incident. The injuries were declared non-life-threatening.
As a result of the incident, the eastbound light rail service was delayed. No further regarding the identities of the parties has been provided.
