On Wednesday night, a 24-year-old West Richland woman and another person suffered injuries after a multi-vehicle pile-up on SR-240.
As per the initial information, the incident took place at around 8:20 p.m. on SR-240 at milepost 36 in Richland. The preliminary reports showed that 27-year-old Samantha Reisenauer was traveling westbound on SR-240 at milepost 36 when her vehicle rear-ended a motorcycle driven by a 24-year-old West Richland woman.
Another vehicle then rear-ended Reisenauer’s car. On arrival, medics took the motorcyclist to the hospital with unknown injuries. She was reportedly wearing a USDOT compliant helmet at the time of the collision. The driver who hit Reisenauer’s vehicle also received injuries and he was provided medical aid at the scene.
Officials said that charges are pending against Reisenauer. Authorities said that drugs or alcohol have not played a factor in the wreck.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
