On Thursday, two people suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 16.
As per the initial information, the fatal four-vehicle pile-up took place at about 6:35 a.m. on Jackson Road. The early reports showed that an eastbound Chevy Malibu was behind a school bus on the freeway when it attempted to pass the school bus over solid double yellow lines. Just then, the Malibu crashed head-on into a westbound Chevy Spark. The Spark rolled over in the roadway and its debris struck a westbound Chevy Silverado behind the Spark.
After that, the Malibu collided with the left front side of the school bus which had no students or drivers on board. On arrival, emergency crews transported the Malibu and Spark drivers to a hospital with moderate injuries. The school bus driver and Silverado driver remained unharmed in the wreck. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
