On Sunday, a pregnant woman and a man suffered injuries following a rollover crash in Grand Rapids.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place on I-196 near the Lake Michigan Drive exit. The early reports showed that the truck took the eastbound curve of I-196 too fast and flipped over. On arrival, paramedics transported the pregnant passenger and the driver to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
At approximately 11 a.m., the westbound freeway was shut down in the area, officials reported. Part of eastbound and westbound Interstate 196 was blocked in the area as crews worked at the scene, but it has since reopened. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
