2 people hospitalized following a car vs. farm tractor collision near Conklin (Chester Township, MI)

On early Friday morning, a 20-year-old Grand Rapids woman and a 29-year-old Conklin man suffered injuries following a car vs. farm tractor collision near Conklin in northeast Ottawa County.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Harding Street near 16th Avenue at 1:35 AM in response to a two-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that a woman driving an SUV was traveling westbound when her car rear-ended a farm tractor that was dragging an agricultural sprayer. Due to the impact, both the vehicles rolled over, trapping both drivers inside.

On arrival, emergency crews rescued and rushed both the victims to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with non-fatal injuries. Authorities confirmed a citation to the woman for not stopping her vehicle within a safe distance. The identities of the injured victims have not been revealed at this time. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
