Two people received injuries after a wrong-way crash early Thursday morning along the interstate in Orange County.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place on IH-10 in Orange County. At about 3:15 a.m. Thursday morning, a 26-year-old Bridge City woman was driving a 2021 Toyota SUV eastbound along the Interstate 10 access road when she entered the westbound lanes of the interstate at the Doty Road exit headed the wrong way.
At that point of time, a 32-year-old Houston man driving a 2019 Kenworth 18-wheeler pulling a double-trailer was traveling west along the interstate. The reports showed that the Toyota SUV hit the left side of the 18-wheeler in the westbound lanes of the interstate.
Both the driver of the SUV and the 18-wheeler were transported by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with unspecified injuries. Troopers are looking into the wreck which left only one lane open in the westbound lanes until about 10:30 a.m. No other information is available.
The accident remains under investigation.
