2 people flown to hospital after a traffic collision in Smyrna (Smyrna, TN)

On Tuesday night, two people were hospitalized following a motor vehicle accident in Smyrna.

As per the initial information, the traffic collision took place on Lowry Street at Jefferson Pike. On arrival, emergency crews airlifted two people to Vanderbilt Hospital with unspecified injuries. It is unknown how many people in total were injured and how many vehicles were involved in the accident.

All lanes in the area were shut down as crews worked at the scene. Officers asked the motorists to avoid the area as both sides of the road would be closed for a while. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
