March 28, 2023 / Source: KRQE

The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash in Mckinley County on Saturday evening. The accident happened on Interstate 40 close to the Arizona border.

Bret Wayne Sackett, 60, of Utah was operating a semi-truck moving west on I-40 when he made a quick exit. Jordan Frank, 31, of Twin Lakes, was operating a GMC Sierra when the semi-truck struck the back of it as it was moving toward the exit. The GMC was then pushed into a Volvo semi-tractor trailer by the collision.

Jordan Frank and Bret Wayne Sackett were both pronounced dead at the scene. A 59-year-old passenger in Wayne’s semi was taken to the hospital. The Volvo’s driver was unharmed.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Alcohol does not seem to have been a contributing factor in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
