2 People Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Hobbs (Hobbs, NM)

The Hobbs Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday night. The accident happened at the 600 block of Apache at around 6 p.m. The collision involved a vehicle and two people.

Octavia Throssel, 27, of California, and Joshua Jackson, 33, both of Hobbs, had been struck by the vehicle involved and had incurred fatal injuries. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The dog’s condition was not mentioned in the press release.

After the fatal collision, the driver fled the scene. According to a press release from the police department, 26-year-old Anthony Baca of Hobbs was charged with involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, cruelty to animals, and other offenses in connection with the collision.
