The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in East Feliciana Parish on Saturday morning.

The collision involved two vehicles.

The accident happened close to LA 964 on US 61 at around 1 a.m.

Jaylen Baker, 26, was traveling north in a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV. 

A 2000 Peterbilt 18-wheeler headed southbound was also turning left from LA 964 to US 61 at the same time.

According to police, Baker struck the 18-wheeler’s trailer’s backside and got stuck underneath it.

Unrestrained, both of the Trailblazer’s occupants passed away in the collision. 

The 18-wheeler’s driver and passenger sustained no injuries.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.

No other information regarding the crash is available currently.
