According to the Memphis Police Department, a multi-vehicle accident was reported in East Memphis on Tuesday night.
The officials stated that two cars were involved in the crash at Walnut Grove and Perkins at around 8 p.m.
Officials reported that a man and woman were declared dead at the scene.
Another victim was critically injured in the crash and was rushed to Regional One Hospital.
The preliminary investigation reported that one of the cars hit a utility pole.
No additional information regarding the identity of the victims was provided.
The police are yet to confirm whether drugs, alcohol or reckless driving was a factor involved in the fatal crash.
