Two people lost their lives after a traffic collision Monday afternoon in Needles.
As per the initial information, the deadly two-vehicle accident took place at around 12:36 p.m. on Interstate 40, east of Five Mile Road. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. The preliminary reports showed that a black pickup truck came from the eastbound lanes, crossed the center divider and collided with a red car.
The truck came to a stop near the westbound lanes of Interstate 40. Due to the impact, two people were thrown from the pickup truck. Both the occupants died of their injuries. A medical helicopter also responded to the scene. The left lane of westbound Interstate 40 was blocked during the investigation and cleanup. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
