2 people dead after a multi-vehicle accident in north Houston (Houston, TX)

On Monday night, a man and woman lost their lives following a multi-vehicle wreck in north Houston.

As per the initial information, the fatal four-vehicle pile-up took place in the 11600 block of Bannister Lane at Little York at about 7:11 p.m. The early reports showed that a truck was going westbound on Little York when the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle, went over the median and collided with a Kia that was heading eastbound. The Kia then crashed into the tow truck, which was hauling a vehicle at that time.

A man and woman died as a result of the wreck. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minimal injuries. Officers believe that speed possibly played a factor, but as it was a head-on crash, it is difficult to find out exactly how fast each of the vehicles was traveling and to assign fault at this time. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
