On early Sunday morning, two people lost their lives following a head-on crash on Georgia 400.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place on Georgia 400 near Roberts Drive. Officers got the reports of the accident just after 6 a.m. The early reports showed that a car was traveling north from Sandy Springs towards Roswell in the southbound lanes. Officers going south from the Holcomb Bridge Road exit noticed a head on crash just south of the Chattahoochee River on the busy Fulton County highway. Both drivers were declared dead at the scene by the officials.
The two drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles. The identities of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Ga. 400 was closed for over four hours Sunday morning as crews worked at the scene. The road was back open shortly after 10 a.m. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
