Two people lost their lives following a fiery collision Wednesday afternoon in Brawley.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place at 3:25 p.m. on southbound Highway 86, south of Carey Road. The early reports showed that a car and a tractor-trailer rig were involved in the wreck.
The car caught fire due to the force of the collision. Authorities confirmed that two people died as a result of the crash. Highway 86 between Keystone and Austin Roads was closed down while crews worked at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released. No other details are made available.
The accident remains under investigation.
