On Sunday afternoon, two children suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Shreveport.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 4:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Jewella Ave. The early reports showed that a driver in a white truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle rear-ended a black Kia carrying two children; one of whom is a baby.
According to the eyewitnesses, the truck slammed into the Kia and attempted to speed off, striking a light pole and ending up on the west side of Jewella. The baby was ejected from its car seat due to the collision. Reports added that the children were bloody and crying and were rushed to Ochsner LSU Health with unspecified injuries. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
