18-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl injured after a single-vehicle accident in Riverside (Riverside, CA)

An 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl received injuries following a traffic collision Thursday in Riverside.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at around 8 a.m. on 12th Street and Brockton Avenue. The early reports showed that a 2004 Honda Civic driven by the man was heading south when, for undetermined reasons, the vehicle veered into the opposite lanes and crashed into a light pole.

The male driver received critical injuries while the teen passenger incurred minor injuries. Both of them were shifted to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were involved in the collision. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
