According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Pine Valley on Wednesday. The crash happened on Old Highway 80 and Sunrise Highway at around 11:22 p.m. 

According to the investigators, a 2000 Toyota Camry and an 18-year-old were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the Toyota driver crashed into a rock embankment and partially overturned. 

An 18-year-old Joshua Joseph Spirz was identified as the Toyota driver who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to the reports, it is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved. The cause of the accident is still being investigated. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
