18-Year-Old Francisco Saenz Hinojos Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Lea County (LeaCounty, NM)

The collision happened at State Road 128, west of Jal at around 5:00 a.m.

18-year-old Francisco Saenz Hinojos of El Paso, Texas was driving a 2019 Ford pickup truck traveling eastbound when he veered into oncoming traffic, and collided head-on with a cargo truck traveling westbound. 

The commercial vehicle then collided with a 2022 Ford pickup truck as a result of the incident.

The Office of Medical Investigator pronounced the driver of the 2019 Ford pickup truck dead at the scene after he sustained severe injuries.

According to NMSP, Jal EMS sent the driver of the commercial vehicle to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The 2022 Ford pickup’s driver and two passengers did not sustain any injuries in this fatal crash.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated by the officials.
