18-year-old Estrella Gomez Guerrero injured after a single-vehicle crash on Silverado Trail (Napa County, CA)

On early Monday morning, 18-year-old Estrella Gomez Guerrero and four others suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Silverado Trail.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 12:45 a.m. on the southbound Silverado Trail, north of Taplin Road. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a southbound 2004 Honda failed to maintain control of his vehicle and swerved off the roadway. After that, the vehicle crashed into a metal guardrail into a barbed wire fence before hitting a dirt and grass embankment.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed 18-year-old Estrella Gomez Guerrero to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center with major injuries. A 19-year-old Napa man, an 18-year-old St. Helena woman were also transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Officers arrested the 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle at the scene on suspicion of DUI. No other details are made available.

An investigation is ongoing.
