According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, a motor vehicle accident was reported in Queen Creek.
The officials stated that the 18-year-old driver at-fault is facing charges related to the deadly crash that occurred around 4 a.m. at Rittenhouse and Riggs Road. The driver, Ezana Tessema has been accused of manslaughter and aggravated assault by the Police.
Officials reported that the vehicle mis-calculated a curve and crossed into the opposite lanes. This caused the vehicle to slam into a brick wall and electrical equipment and caught on fire. The officials reported that five people were in the car at the time of the accident.
One deceased victim has been identified as 18-year-old Caleb Rodriguez. Another person was critically injured in the crash. The third victim suffered critical injuries but is expected to survive. The fourth victim sustained minor injuries from the fatal crash.
