17-year-old Jack Klopfer killed after a fiery car crash on Old Hickory Boulevard (Nashville, TN)

On Saturday morning, 17-year-old Jack Klopfer, of Antioch, lost his life while another 17-year-old suffered injuries following a fiery crash on Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place near Cane Ridge Road at about 7 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that Jack Klopfer failed to maintain control of a Mazda Sedan in a curve on wet pavement. The Mazda went off the road and hit a tree before catching on fire.

Klopfer suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. His passenger sustained non-fatal injuries in the accident. Officials believe that excessive speed might have played a factor in the crash. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
