17-year-old boy injured after getting hit by a car in San Diego (San Diego, CA)

A 17-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a vehicle Monday in the Otay Mesa West neighborhood.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 8:01 a.m. in the 800 block of Picador Boulevard. The early reports showed that a 17-year-old boy was crossing west to east when he ran in front of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra heading southbound in the first lane and got struck.

The teen had a fractured left femur and a six-inch laceration to the left hip. His injuries are believed to be non-fatal. The identity of the injured pedestrian has not been released at this time. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
