Authorities identified 16-year-old Milton Diaz, of Woodstock, as the victim who died following a single-vehicle accident that also injured another person on Sunday morning in Marietta.
The fatal car crash took place at 4:39 a.m. on the Interstate 75 northbound ramp to North Marietta Parkway. According to the investigation reports, the 20-year-old driver was heading north towards North Marietta Parkway in a 2013 Nissan Altima when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the lane and swerved off the roadway, hitting a tree.
The 16-year-old passenger, Milton Diaz, succumbed to their injuries at Kennestone Hospital. The driver had lesser injuries, officials said. At this time, it is unclear if the driver will face any charges. No further details were provided.
The crash remains under review.
