15-year-old Dylan Yoacham killed after a hit-and-run accident in Sutter Creek (Sutter Creek, CA)

Authorities identified 15-year-old Dylan Yoacham, a sophomore at Amador High School, as the victim who was killed following a crash Tuesday in Sutter Creek.

The fatal hit-and-run collision took place at around 8:35 p.m. on Highway 49 and Valley View Way. The preliminary reports showed that Yoacham and another were crossing the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Matthew Galea, of Shingle Springs.

Dylan Yoacham died of his injuries. Galea was taken into custody by the officials on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the hit-and-run. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. No further details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
