15-year-old boy in critical condition after getting hit by a car while walking across Van Dyke (Warren, MI)

A 15-year-old boy was left in critical condition after getting struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Warren.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place in the area of Nine Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue. The early reports showed that the Warren teen was running east across Van Dyke when a Dodge Journey hit him.

On arrival, first responders rushed the teenager to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the Journey stopped at the scene after the accident. Drug and alcohol were not involved in the crash. No other details are available at this time.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
