14-year-old Lawrence Andrews dead after a hit-and-run crash on Ottawa Road (Apple Valley, CA)

On Tuesday, 14-year-old Lawrence Andrews lost his life following a hit-and-run accident on Ottawa Road.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at around 8:10 p.m. near James A. Woody Park. The preliminary investigation showed that Lawrence had finished volunteering for pee wee football when he started walking. His step-mother and two younger siblings had reportedly crossed the road when an eastbound white or silver two-door coupe traveling on Ottawa Road at over 60 miles-per-hour hit Lawrence.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after hitting the boy. According to the authorities, the suspect vehicle is a Nissan 350Z or an Infinity G35 which had tinted windows and major front-end damage. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under active review.
