13-year-old boy hospitalized after getting struck by a vehicle in White House (White House, TN)

A 13-year-old boy, a high school student, was injured after getting hit by a vehicle Friday while heading to the school bus in White House.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the intersection of Lone Oak and Stadium Dr. at 7:10 a.m. Friday in response to pedestrian accident.  According to an eyewitness, the student was walking across the street when the incident happened, and that the driver was going very slowly because it was near the stop.

The 13-year-old boy was taken to VMCH in Nashville with non-critical threatening injuries. Officials said that the student had no broken bones or internal injuries; however, he did sustain facial injuries. The driver was ticketed for not Exercising Due Care and having an unrestrained child in the vehicle. No other information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
