The Glendale Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday early morning. The accident happened close to 47th Avenue and Bethany Home Road at around 4 a.m. The collision involved a pedestrian.
The woman was crossing the street with a red light and a “no walk” sign when the car was travelling west on Bethany Home on a green light.
When the police arrived, they found a seriously injured woman lying on the road. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead. Her name and identity have not been made public yet.
According to detectives, the driver remained at the scene of the fatal crash and there are no signs of impairment.
At 47th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, all four directions of traffic are blocked.
